The use of this word for the title of this set of symphonic preludes, apart from its strong poetic charge, is mainly due to the fact that the main musical source that has fed the composition is Spanish popular music: During the course of the piece the listener will be able to appreciate, among other touches, the symphonic energy of some pages of Falla, the intimacy of Albéniz's Iberia, the magic of Tomatito or Paco de Lucía's guitars or the festive joy of Granada's Sacromonte, but also, and here I want to emphasize especially, the presence in an evident way of winks towards other music, such as jazz or Latin music. In this symbolic way, with this fusion of styles, the composer wants to reflect what Spanish society is today, a society with a strong load of traditions but, at the same time, a cosmopolitan and modern society as it could not be otherwise in the times in which we live.
