The Wackadoo Zoo is written for unison Voices with optional harmony parts. The Professor is a solo part and there are solo moments throughout as well as animal sound effects.Contemporary American composer Jill Gallina specializesin works for children and young people for concert and stage, often with important messages to communicate. In The Wackadoo Zoo, none of the animals is able to make the ‘right’ sound. A professor comes to try to teach them toconform, but the animals invite him to leave before singing ‘Different Means Special’, celebrating their diversity.
